Declaring country of origin is mandatory for goods sold online in India under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. This page sets out the origin of everything AVN Spices sells.
Country of Origin: India
All spices sold by AVN Spices are grown, harvested and processed in India. We do not import, re-export or repack spices of foreign origin.
Our produce is bought from growing belts across India. Region varies by variety, season and crop quality, and the specific region for any lot is available on request.

Every retail pack carries the declarations required by the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011:
| FSSAI Central Licence | 10124999000086 — valid to 6 March 2027 |
|---|---|
| IEC (Import Export Code) | 0913000400, issued by DGFT |
| Food safety certification | ISO 22000:2018, certificate 0820F587426 |
Our processing and packing operations are certified to ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management System) under certificate number 0820F587426, issued by Toris Management Pvt. Ltd. and valid to 19 August 2029. The certified scope covers the processing, packaging and export of dry red chillies with stem and stemless, dried red chillies, sugar, rice, pulses, spices and agro commodities.
Each pack carries a lot or batch number linking it to the consignment it came from. This lets us trace a pack back to the growing region, the season and the processing batch — which is what makes a quality complaint answerable rather than a matter of opinion. Quote the lot number when raising any query about a specific pack.
For export buyers, country of origin is certified on shipping documents, and a Certificate of Origin is issued through the relevant authority where the destination requires it. Phytosanitary certificates, lab analysis reports and pre-shipment inspection certificates are arranged on request as part of the export documentation set.
We keep this declaration accurate and current. If our sourcing ever changes such that any product is not wholly of Indian origin, this page and the affected product listings will be updated before those goods are offered for sale.
