Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data AVN Spices collects when you use avnspices.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It is issued under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and reflects the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Who is responsible for your data

AVN Spices Private Limited (CIN U51101AP2013PTC085717), trading as AVN Spices, decides how and why your personal data is processed. Our contact details are at the end of this page.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

• Account: name, email address, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form).
• Orders: delivery name, postal address, country, email and phone number.
• Export enquiries: company name, contact person, email, phone, destination country, grades and quantities.
• Correspondence: messages you send through the contact form or by email.

Information collected automatically

• Pages visited and products viewed, used to understand which products draw interest.
• Sign-in attempts, including whether each succeeded, used to protect accounts against unauthorised access.
• Browser and device type, from the user-agent your browser sends.

What we deliberately do not collect

• Card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN and netbanking credentials. These are entered on Razorpay's secure interface and never reach our servers or our database.
• Your IP address in readable form. Where we record the source of a sign-in attempt or page view, the address is converted to a one-way salted hash. This lets us group repeated attempts from the same source without keeping a record of where you connect from.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share only what is necessary with:

• Razorpay Software Private Limited — to process payments and handle refunds.
• Courier and logistics partners — name, address and phone, so your parcel can be delivered.
• Our hosting and email providers — who store data on our behalf under contract.
• Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law, court order, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. How long we keep it

Where you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal details but retain the minimum order records we are legally required to keep.

6. How we protect it

• The Website is served over HTTPS, so data in transit is encrypted.
• Passwords are stored using a one-way hashing algorithm with a per-password salt. Nobody at AVN Spices can read your password.
• Administrative areas require a separate password and are not accessible from customer accounts.
• Database access is restricted to the application, and credentials are stored outside the public web directory.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will inform you and the relevant authority as required by law.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

• Session cookie — keeps you signed in. It is marked HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it. Without it, accounts cannot work.
• Local storage — your shopping cart is held in your own browser until you check out. It never leaves your device except when you place an order.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Blocking cookies will prevent sign-in and checkout from working.

8. Your rights

You may ask us to:

• confirm what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• delete your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must retain by law;
• stop sending you non-essential communications.

Write to info@avnspices.com from the email address registered with us. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may escalate through our Grievance Redressal Policy.

9. Children

The Website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified on this page, and the "last updated" date will change. Continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
